The Widow’s Guide

Privacy

Last updated October 19, 2026.

This site belongs to JMS Media Group LLC, a Wyoming company that publishes The Widow’s Guide. This page says what the site collects, why, and what you can do about it. You can reach us at hello@widowsguide.org.

It is a plain website made of fixed pages. It has no accounts and no logins, and it doesn’t ask for your name.

If you sign up for emails

The sign-up is for readers in the United States. When you sign up, we keep two things: your email address, and a note of which page you signed up from, such as a particular book or the checklist page.

We use them for one thing: to send you a few short emails a year about the books and the times they cover. You can unsubscribe with the link in any email, or write to us and we will remove you. We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

The form is handled by our web host, Netlify, which stores what you submit on our behalf. Netlify may also record technical details with each sign-up, such as the time and your IP address, and may check it for spam. If we use an email service to send the emails, it will hold your address too, only for that purpose.

We don’t sell, rent or trade your address. We don’t share it with anyone except the services that store it and send our emails, or where the law requires it.

The free checklist

The checklist needs no sign-up and no email address. Opening it is recorded like any other page visit, as described below.

What is collected automatically

Like any website, our host records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, your browser and the pages requested. It is used to keep the site running and secure.

The site’s typefaces and images are served from this site itself, not from other companies’ servers.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, this page will say so.

Links to other sites

Links to Amazon, government agencies and crisis lines take you to sites with their own privacy policies. We don’t control what they collect.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@widowsguide.org. Depending on the state you live in, you may have further rights under state law, and we will honor them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
